SUMMARY:Lifelong Learning Session | Rob Cross
DESCRIPTION:Do you feel you are “always-on\,” continuously checking email\, and working long hours? Most organizations have created always-on work contexts that burn people out and hurt performance rather than delivering productivity\, innovation\, and engagement. Collaborative work consumes 85% of employees’ time and is drifting earlier into the morning\, later into the night\, and deeper into the weekend. Through in-depth stories and tools\, bestselling author and leadership expert Rob Cross will show you how to break your work addiction and reclaim close to a day a week by:  \n\nIdentifying and challenging beliefs that lead us to jump into collaborative work too quickly\nImposing structure in our work to shield from unproductive collaboration\nAltering behaviors to create efficiencies in collaborations\nCultivating and then mobilizing a broad network – not a big one – for innovation and scale\n\nAbout the author: Rob Cross is a Professor of Global Leadership and the co-founder and Chief Research Scientist of the Connected Commons business consortium. For more than twenty years\, he has studied the underlying networks of influential organizations and the collaborative practices of high performers. Working with more than three hundred organizations and reaching thousands of leaders from the front line to the C-suite\, he has identified specific ways to cultivate vibrant\, effective networks at all levels of an organization and any career stage. Cross has authored six Harvard Business Review articles on practical approaches to enhancing collaboration. He is the co-author of five books\, including The Hidden Power of Social Networks. \nEvent Information\nDate: June 28\, 2022\nTime: 9:00 am \nRegistration\nPlease click the button below to register for this free event. \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:Leo Picnic and Baseball Double Header
DESCRIPTION:The University of La Verne campus is open again and Leo baseball season has begun! \nWe’ve got a terrific opportunity coming up to reconnect on campus—a Leo baseball double-header. Bring the family and plan to meet up with old friends at Ben Hines Field on April 9 so we can all watch the games together while honoring the tremendous legacy of our field’s namesake—a legendary athlete\, coach\, and foundational pillar of the Leopard Athletics program. We would not have the program we do today\, without Ben Hines. \nBe sure to come hungry! The Office of Alumni Engagement is generously picking up the tab for all registered attendees to enjoy lunch from the Habit Burger Grill truck. Plenty of bleacher seating will be available and we will also have a special tented area in the grass near the first base line. There will be some chairs available at the tent\, but for maximum comfort\, I’d recommend BYOBC—bring your own blanket and chairs. \nEvent Information\nDate: April 9\, 2022\nTime: First game 11:00am | Second game 2:00pm \nRegistration\nPlease click the button below to register for this free event. \nREGISTER
