SUMMARY:Ask Me Anything Virtual Series | Industry Hiring Trends: COVID and Beyond
DESCRIPTION:Session Information\nTopic: Industry Hiring Trends: COVID and Beyond \nSpeaker: Tamara Reyes ’97\, Owner\, HK Logistics LLC \nSpeaker Bio\nVisit Tamara’s LinkedIn Profile \nAfter graduating ULV in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science\, Tamara Reyes contemplated going to grad school and furthering my education at the University of LaVerne in the PsyD program. Over the summer of 97\, she was introduced to the Allegis family through friends and fell in love with the culture of the company and the people. Tamara started her career at Allegis as a recruiter and went on to serve in roles such as sales\, national sales\, and as a human capital solutions executive. Throughout her 22 years with this amazing company\, she weathered many storms in the economy that put pressure on employers to hire and retain great employees in an everchanging economy. Educating her customers and candidates around the market pressures and retention was at the top of her list. Finding and retaining great employees is much more difficult than it sounds and she was glad to be a voice of change in this industry. \nOn June 12\, 2020 she retired from Allegis and set out to start her own company\, HK Logistics LLC. Being that her past was recruiting\, hiring\, leading\, and developing she found it natural to start her own business. Tamara recently partnered with Amazon Prime to be the “Last Mile” in the delivery process to the customer. Her company is the only customer-facing piece of the Amazon Prime experience as her drivers are delivering directly to customers every day. She is excited to grow and learn in this new journey as she builds a culture where people want to work and grow within the company. Tamara is faced with growing her company from 0 to 40 employees in the next seven weeks and then from 40-80 employees by November. This is a challenge she is excited about and she looks forward to celebrating the success of everyone involved. \nSeries Information\nJoin us for our new series of virtual lunch-and-learn events\, offered in partnership with our Career Support teams.
