Speaker: Ymasumac Maranon Davis

Ymasumac Maranon Davisis a writer, educational consultant, and university lecturer with a deep connection to her Quechua and New England heritage. Raised among the Mayan people of the Yucatan Peninsula, her work explores intersection of culture, language, and spirituality. A doctoral candidate in Education for Social Justice at the University of San Diego, Ymasumac’s research focuses on oral storytelling as a counternarrative and the coexistence of diverse ways of knowing in educational spaces. She is an adjunct lecturer at California State University, Fullerton, and a course designer for the Wilmette Institute. Ymasumac is also a devoted wife and mother of four.
